The internet in our office has seen better days. With its bad habit of random outages we need a spot that won’t let us down. The caffeine is an added perk. Brew is our go-to location that has all of the essentials: internet and coffee. It’s also nice to get out of the office sometimes and set up shop in a casual setting filled with some good juju.

2. The Floridian

If you haven’t been to the Floridian at 3:30am, you haven’t lived. The Fort Lauderdale favorite is always poppin’ for a reason. It’s an oldie, but a goodie. The Floridian is that place you go where you run into anyone and everyone. We always enjoy a good place to hang with locals and enjoy some delicious comfort food and The Floridian is just that.

3. Red Cow

We made our first trip to new BBQ joint, Red Cow, today and we were pretty pleased. Red Cow just opened up so we had to give it a go. The random videos of cows jumping on the screens make for a good conversation starter while you wait for your food. We loved our meals and the saucy selections, so it’s safe to say we will definitely be returning.

4. Riverside Market

There’s no way we were going to talk local and not include Riverside Market. Riverside definitely takes the top of our list. While we love the 550+ beer selection and chubby bunny tiebreaker at beer bingo, it’s the laid-back atmosphere and people (like Julian and Lisa) that make us love this establishment. If you’ve been so unfortunate to have never stepped foot into Riverside, do yourself and your friends a favor and make your way over there.

5. Miami Subs

Recently, it was brought to our attention that Miami Subs was not in our lunch rotation. This obviously caused an uproar and we immediately had to throw Miami Subs Monday into our week. How can you turn down those fries? While Miami Subs seems to be a dying breed, we still support the fast food chain that was always so close to our hearts.

Combat boots can transform any outfit into a more street style feel. While we frequent heels in the office, combat boots are a cool weekend alternative. It may be Spring, but forget what society says, this is the troublemaker edition right? Ankle boots are also on option if you want to get technical with the seasons. Chelsea Crew has a great pair of lace combat boots available at Urban Outfitters that will have you stompin’ all over town. They’re also vegan for all the crunchies out there.

2. Cards Against Humanity

There’s nothing better than a good, clean family friendly game night…unless it’s the complete opposite of that and would make your sweet great grandmother roll over in her grave. We’re always down with the occasional sarcasm, inappropriate comment, or dirty joke and Cards Against Humanity gives you all three rolled into one. This game is as they say, “The party game for horrible people.” We must be just that because we find this to be the best game ever.

When you see someone with brass knuckles one thought that might cross your mind is that the person could have a little bite to their bark. They mean trouble. Although we’re more on the lovers not fighters side of things, we want to feel a little hardcore sometimes too. The fact that this case will probably increase the chances of us not losing our phone helps also. Shop Jeen has a crazy selection of brass knuckles phone cases that come in all different colors and are only $17.50.

The cliché “don’t go looking for trouble” plays no part in this series. In fact, in the HBO show Vice, they look far and wide for the most ludicrous stories they can find while putting themselves in extremely troubling and dangerous positions. “VICE's fearless approach is like nothing else on television and will show some of the scariest, weirdest and most absurd customs and practices known to humanity.” If you haven’t seen this show yet, your mind will be blown. Kudos to VICE's Shane Smith for this.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re big fans of Mary Poppins purses that turn into a black hole, but they aren’t always practical. It turns into a super awkward moment when you’re at a jazzy event and nail someone with 10 pounds of questionable items in a sack. This studded black clutch by Clare Vivier gives us all the space we need and is calling our name.

Well, we thought we were pretty organized—first step is admitting you have a problem, right? But there was this one party that we threw and this one closet we had, and well—it became the catchall.

You know how you throw everything in your closet to do a quick clean up of your room before someone comes over? Same concept. For every guest at the party, there was at least one random thing that got shoved into the closet, never to return again.

Until last week.

Neat Method, a company that’s posted up in Chicago, San Francisco, and New York has recently expanded to South Florida. After meeting Marissa at the Trendy Truck launch party, we knew we had to put her organizing skills to work.

And did we ever.

After doing an initial visit to learn more about our everyday work lives and what we would really need to stay organized, Marissa came in and stored, filed, and revamped it all. She even reserved her judgment of our sad, sad system of receipt and expense filing (We think…). After getting rid of papers from 2010 and random vandalized headshots (Guilty!), Marissa put everything in a designated folder or container, and her label maker was working overtime. You never realize how amazing labeled drawers are until you get some.

Talk about a closet game-changer. The whole process took a few hours over the course of 2 days and was completely stress-free. Borderline exciting, one might venture.

And…her organizing skills extend to closets at home too. Which is an exciting thought because the office actually trumps our (read: my) home in organization. What’s better than a perfectly organized closet displaying all the shoes and purses you’ve worked so hard for? Not much.

For more information, visit neatmethod.com, and stalk them on Facebook & Twitter too!

Whoever said April showers bring May flowers was obviously delusional. It’s been raining up a storm (literally) for the past few days and the first thing you need for a rainy day is a solid pair of rain boots. They are especially beneficial if your parking lot turns into the Atlantic with any heavy shower. Hunter has some awesome rain boots that come in countless styles and colors perfect for trekking through the lake in your lot. They retail around $125 and up, but they’ll pretty much last forever.

2. Trench Coat

Because sometimes, you need a good trench. We don’t like when rainy days actually try and rain on our outfit parade. For this, there are trenches. Whenever Florida does it’s typical rain thing, whip out a trench to throw over your outfit. They have some cool trench options over at Nasty Gal. One even incorporates the fabric of our lives, leather.

2. Totes Bubble Umbrellas

Ever been the guy in the rain whose umbrella flips inside out? Or walk with an umbrella that becomes completely pointless because of the sideways rain flow? Well, we have. Go get yourself a bubble umbrella. These umbrellas will keep you as dry as possible and aren’t as likely to flip inside out. Totes Isotoner makes a variety of bubble umbrellas for days when the weather is being a jerk.

4. Blinc

Does your mascara let you dance in the rain?! Ours does! (Pulled that out of the Sara Shake voiceover archives) Basically, no one wants to look like a crying raccoon because you got a little rain drizzle on your face. Blinc mascara applies water-resistant tubes around your eyelashes instead of painting mascara on them. Now you can gallivant around town rain or shine without fear of the dreaded mascara drip.

5. Delivery Dudes

This is one that can do with or without the rain. No one wants to slosh through the rain to get lunch and most delivery options are pretty mediocre. Delivery Dudes gets away from the standard delivery options and gives you a list of restaurants that they will pick up and deliver right to your door/office. We’ve found ourselves favoring “Just the tip Tuesday” where there is no delivery charge…or even Mondays…or any day, really. Maybe we order for the food and maybe we order so that we can have smokin hot delivery dude Ryan stop by, who knows.

Craft beers are more popular than ever, which means more choices than ever. Options are great and all, but sometimes you need a little help from the experts to make sure you don’t end up at the pool with the gas station special…again.

Ever wonder what beer goes best with a hot summer day? A Stout? A Pale Ale? A Porter? Luckily there are experts to make these tough calls, so you can spend more time concentrating on what’s really important: getting a tan. Julian Siegel, Owner of The Riverside Market, gives his top picks for the best beers of summer (and describes each in true-Julian fashion).

Southern Tier Hop Sun.This is an easy drinker, as it should be. Hints of citrus, hops, and a touch of lemon make this medium body beer your summer buddy. The hop profile is welcoming and very smooth.

Victory Summer Love. A beer lover's summer beer! Noble and citrusy hops, freshly cut grass, papaya and peaches come to mind as you drink this very enjoyable, wonderful summer beer. It is light and hoppy, refreshing and not too filling. This is released only in the summer, but is a beer for all seasons. Smooth and tasty, you can't drink just one!

Orange Blossom Cream Ale from Buffalo Bills Brewery in San Francisco. Picture yourself as a child waiting for the ice cream truck. It is a Creamsicle, but made with beer, orange peel, and honey!

Shiner's Ruby Redbird. A boater or beach goer's best friend. Crisp and creative, the combination of Texas grapefruit and ginger is extremely refreshing. Super smooth, light carbonation, copper/amber color. It will be your best friend in a can or bottle.

Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy is not a typical beer by anyone's standards. If you like lemonade, this is for you. If you don't like beer, this is perfect! It is slightly sweet but seriously refreshing, and at 4.2%, it is perfect for any drinker.

Riverside Market is owned by husband and wife team Julian & Lisa Siegel and located at 608 SW 12th Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. A purveyor of over 550 craft beers, as well as, a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, the market opened in 2010 and has continued to gain local recognition ever since. Riverside Market has established itself as a true "locals" spot for the historic Sailboat Bend and Riverside Park neighborhoods, as well as, a premier provider of craft beer in South Florida--specializing in limited batch and hard to find brands. Riverside Market is open 7 days a week from 8am until the last patron leaves.

This week’s edition is dedicated to the big screen splendor that is The Great Gatsby. Toby & Leo were amaze, and the fashion is pretty ridiculous. Definitely 2.5 hours of your life well spent.

1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Most of us probably read the sparknotes of The Great Gatsby in middle or high school and don’t remember the entire story. Spoiler Alert: Daisy is a bitch. With the movie coming it got us a bit nostalgic…not enough to actually re-read the book, but definitely enough to think about re-reading the book. Curl up with a glass of scotch, throw on a headband, and get into the classic.

2. Brooks Brothers Gatsby Collection

So. Dapper. The Peter Pan collars, the brogues, the colors…we’re obsessed. Maybe a three-piece suit in Florida humidity is impractical, but who wouldn’t want to dress like a literary icon year round? Leave it to Brooks Brothers, the authority on debonair, to produce a collection that’s a real roaring 20’s panty-dropper.

3. Signet Rings

Not many men can pull off a pinky ring, unless you happen to be a gambler, a drinker, or a Canadian. If you saw the movie, you might have spotted the signet ring that Gatsby wore. If you’re a diehard Gatsby lover, drop some dollars at Tiffany’s on their new Ziegfeld line inspired by the film (Gatsby’s nouveau riche swagger not included).

4. Deepa Gurnari Headbands

Intricate and blingy headgear can spice up any outfit, and Daisy and Jordan from GG brought the trend full circle with a plethora of heavenly headband options. The headband trend is back to stay, and we’re completely embracing it. Deepa Gurnari has some pretty stunning headbands that total Gatsby. They take any hair day from so-so to chi-chi (pronounced SHE-SHE with attitude…also, a new office buzzword).

5. Leonardo DiCaprio

Romeo. Jack. J. Gatsby. From the pages of TigerBeat to the Titanic—Leo had us at “Meet me at the clock.” It’s almost as if he goes off the radar just long enough for us to forget how smoking hot he is, and then BAM! He’s back, dressed in a tuxedo, raising a glass, and saying “I’m Gatsby” in his dreamy voice with his dreamy dimples. Sure Basketball Diaries made us a little weirded out, but you’re pretty much the male face of our generation (More on the female face of our generation: Jennifer Lawrence in next week’s Top 5). For real. We dig you, and our hearts will go on.

After months and months in the works, the City of Fort Lauderdale CRA has contributed a $30,000 grant to the Flagler Village Community Garden. The grant was given by the city CRA to jumpstart the multi-phase project. With the backing and support of Fort Lauderdale, Flagler Garden now has a large portion of the funds needed for the community owned and operated green space.

Flagler Garden President, Chad Scott, shares what receiving the grant represents, “This decision by the Fort Lauderdale CRA has sent a clear message to the community. Fort Lauderdale will now support progressive, forward thinking projects that activate the community. If you have a dream, follow through, well organized plan, and community support, you can make your vision a reality in Fort Lauderdale.”

The funds received by the CRA will be used for Phase 1 of the project, which includes entrance gate, decorative fencing, 44 garden plots, irrigation, lighting, seating, pavers, and permeable gravel. Flagler Garden, to date, has already raised $20,000 in addition to the CRA’s grant. With that said, the Garden will now have the ability to complete most of Phase 2, as well. Phase 2 of the project includes the remaining 35 plots, group and individual storage, workshop/stage area, and a community bulletin board.

Scott expresses his gratitude for city commissioner, Dean Trantalis, saying, “Dean Trantalis, FTL District 2 City Commissioner, has truly been a partner in the Flagler Village neighborhood since his recent election in March of 2013. He clearly sees that the Flagler Garden mission integrates perfectly with the Fort Lauderdale 2035 Visioning Plan."

The Garden is now planning for a groundbreaking event at the end of June. Backed by overwhelming community support, Flagler Garden will now break ground in 2013 on land donated by First Lutheran Church. The Garden plans to incorporate garden plots, paths, rain barrels, and garden hanging areas along with offering private event services and a 365-day growing season.
If you haven’t already caught on, we love amazing smelling things. Stella by Stella McCartney is one of those things. Walking through the war zone of the mall, aka the fragrance department, with spritzes and sprays of perfume going in and around your face isn’t the best thing in the world either. Forget that step and just head to a Sephora and grab a Stella. You’ll be thanking us.

3. It’s a 10

We’re trying to look like dimes all the time, so naturally, “It’s a 10” was a perfect fit. We also want to wake up looking like we were just in a shampoo commercial. This miracle leave-in product eliminates the frizz and keeps our hair looking shiny. It also helps strengthen our hair after all the blow drying, curling, dying, etc. Try for yourself and get some silky hair action going on.

4. Naadam

We’re all about giving back, especially if it’s to nomadic Mongolian goat herders. You heard us right, goat herders. Recently, we were introduced to Naadam, a cashmere sweater company that gives a percentage of their profit to the World Banks livestock insurance program. Yeah, it might be Spring but you can get these puppies for wholesale price if you back their Kickstarter campaign, which has 8 days left. This is also the finest cashmere out there so get ‘em while they’re hot.

5. Ron Barcelo Premium Imperial Blend

Though, we’ve been known to get into some Prosecco, we had to grab a bottle of the smooth and rich rum better known as Ron Barcelo. We know Cinco de Mayo has passed but when you get your hands on this limited edition blend, you don’t need a holiday to celebrate. Considering there are only 600 bottles of this liquid candy in the United States, you might actually want to save it for special occasions.

Wasn’t that first sentence obnoxious? Let me answer that for you. Yes, it was.

The Exposed PR office feels that hashtag abuse is the nation’s newest support-group worthy epidemic. Do you know a friend with a hashtag problem?

The definition of a hashtag by the fine people at Twitter is as follows: # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages.

Proper use of a hashtag is a great way to keep track of a conversation and/or topic and add relevant information to a particular post. In other words, your hashtag should give you Tweet or Photo context. {For an execptional example of hashtag usage, try following #Dating911, say tonight at 9pm?}

Our problem with hashtags begins when the only thing they add to a post is disgusting word litter. Once you've hit 3 hashtags in one post, it's time to pump the brakes.

Let’s have have a lesson on hashtag etiquette.

Let’s say you’re having an enjoyable day on Miami Beach with a group of friends and you just have to Instagram the amazing view you have to make all of your other friends jealous.

Here are some examples of acceptable hashtag uses: #MiamiBeach #SouthFlorida #SouthBeach; Your hashtags should add information that isn’t blatantly obvious in the post.

Here are some examples of unacceptable hashtag uses: #sun #beach #clouds #water #blue #water #bluewater #waves #sand #brownsand #isjawscoming #theremightbesharks; What did that add to the picture? Nothing but word-vomit induced rage. I have news for you, Jaws is stuck in the 80s where he belongs.

Also, get familiar with the space bar. Just because they're still clickable doesn't mean you should lump them all together in a hashtag dogpile. Space bar. Grammar. Get into it.

And lastly, hashtags aren't trackable on Facebook. They are only active search terms on Twitter & Instagram. So...all those pound signs you've cluttered your timeline with, are basically useless.

Be respectful of the hashtag, people.
