Mike and Nate Bike from Key West to Niagara Falls beginning June 25th Benefitting The Wounded Warrior Project

MikeandNate Bike the States for The Wounded Warrior Project

Mike and Nate Bike from Key West to Niagara Falls beginning June 25th Benefitting The Wounded Warrior Project

Upon graduation from Florida Atlantic University, Nathaniel Frankoski, 25, and Michael Buonaiuto Jr, 22, will bike up the East coast of the United States this summer. Biking over 2,500 miles, their journey will take 50 days and will take them from Key West to Niagara Falls.

Mike and Nate are accepting donations for their journey, or you can join them when the boys pass through your neighborhood. Also, their suits will promote businesses that chose to support them. Donations will benefit The Wounded Warrior Project, which “fosters the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.” Mike and Nate hope to raise $50,000 for the cause. The proceeds from sold ad space will cover food, sleeping, and bicycle repairs.

When describing why they chose to bike the states, Mike and Nate believe they should stand behind those that stood up for their freedom. “We have a heart for those that risked life and limb for our liberty. This bike ride is our way of giving back to whom have already given so much…and its way less cliché than going backpacking in Europe after graduation,” states Mike Buonaiuto.

Mike and Nate kick off their journey on June 25th, 2012 from Key West, Florida. Donations can be sent to Green Mann Advertising LLC, 21039 Escondido Way North, Boca Raton, FL, 33433. Follow their progress by visiting www.mikeandnate.com.

###

MikeandNate Bike the States is an event hosted by Green Mann Advertising. Mike is the proud CEO and knows that this ride will cause a ripple along the Atlantic. Their goal is raising charitable donations, increasing The Wounded Warrior Project awareness, and meeting many people along the East coast. MikeandNate believe the soliders deserve not to be forgotten. The goal is to raise $50,000 to benefit the cause.

For more information on Mike & Nate or to request an interview with the boys, contact Jessica Seewald at 954.600.4167 or jessica@xpsdpr.com.

Alexis Gross is a photographer, artist, and curator raised in New York. She has identified with a natural passion for taking pictures and her photos are a true extension of her everyday existence. She currently is represented by the COMUNE artist collective Drop City. http://www.alexisgross.com/

The event will feature photos from each photographers’ previous exhibits, specifically chosen to enhance the Feltraiger space with prints that complement their minimalistic, yet rugged new space. The photos will be on display through June 3rd during regular business hours.

For those Fort Lauderdale poster children that love the 5 mile radius surrounding Las Olas the same way we do, we've got just what you're looking for to keep you slightly buzzed and strategically placed in the spotlight throughout the weekend.

The Bad News: A food coma is basically inevitable. The Good News: Tickets are still available. Buy them here.

Once you'e had enough boozing for one weekend, and your shame spiral has kicked into overdrive, a socially responsible night at the movies might be just what the doctor ordered. Make Kony famous, and get educated on what's really going down in Uganda. Add in some live music from Kids & Civilian and you've got instant hipster street cred.
Etiquette Boutique Celebrates their Grand Opening with a Fabulous Fashion Show

On Thursday night, we helped Etiquette Boutique celebrate their Grand Opening at their first South Florida location inside the Harbor Shoppes. We were really excited to be able to include some of our favorite local celebrities including Jamie Shock, Ashley Peluchette, Carrie Allgaier, Danielle Walker, Kelly Flanagan, Erica Brown, and Erin Clampett--just to name a few--in our Champagne Bubble of A Girl Fashion Show. For girls that claim not be models, they really knew how to strut their stuff!

Even though the unpredictable South Florida weather put a damper on our outdoor runway plans, we would never let a little rain stand in the way of a great party.

First and foremost, thank you to our amazing sponsors, without which this party would not have been possible! Caitlin Perrone, Owner of Sauci Style, styled each of the looks that walked the runway, hair and makeup was provided by our friends at Face2Face Art, our DJ Quicktrackz, and of course, thank you to our champagne sponsor Korbel Champagne Cellars for keeping everyone tipsy (even the guys were all over the Rose!).

We love to support local businesses and see them succeed, make sure you stop in to Etiquette Boutique to say hi to Nola and David (you won't leave without an espresso or peach tea) and pick up a new outfit for summer. You can also become a fan on Facebook or follow them on Twitter!

Etiquette Boutique Celebrates their Grand Opening with a Runway Show of Local Celebrities

Korbel Sponsors the “Champagne Bubble of A Girl” Themed Event on March 15th at 7pm

Etiquette Boutique, located in the Harbor Shoppes, is excited to celebrate their highly anticipated grand opening event with a presentation of Spring and Resort Trends worn by local women that truly embody the “Champagne Bubble of a Girl” personality.

With a string of successful boutiques in Nashville, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky, mother and son team, Nola and David Harris brought Etiquette Boutique to Fort Lauderdale after scouting a variety of different South Florida locations including Miami, and Palm Beach.

After researching all of South Florida for about 5 months, Fort Lauderdale distinguished itself the clear choice for the flagship of the Etiquette stores. It is really unique in the fact that it has such a small town feel and sense of community, coupled with an outrageous amount of visitors each year. The reception so far has been remarkable, and we are very grateful. We look forward to rapid expansion, with Boca Raton and North Miami in the near future,” states David Harris, Owner of Etiquette Boutique.

The styles inside Etiquette Boutique are hand-selected and offer a mix of both investment and trendy pieces. Filling a void in the Fort Lauderdale shopping scene, Etiquette offers savvy shoppers an alternative to malls and online shopping with affordable pieces to round out their wardrobe. And with about 70 new styles arriving weekly, the selection is perpetually changing—giving fashion enthusiasts all the more reason to check back often. Additionally, Etiquette only pulls six of each style to ensure the dreaded “OMG-she’s-wearing-the-same-dress” moment is avoided whenever possible.

The Grand Opening will take place on Thursday, March 15th from 7pm to 10pm. Local celebrities will walk the runway at 9pm, while guests are treated to live music, champagne provided by Korbel, and of course, shopping at Etiquette Boutique. Hair and makeup will be provided by Face 2 Face Art, with styling by Caitlin Perrone of Sauci Style, and an automotive showcase by Mercedes Benz of Fort Lauderdale. This event is open to the public; an RSVP to rsvp@xpsdpr.com is encouraged for priority entry.

###

Etiquette Boutique is located in the Harbor Shops at 1827 Cordova Road Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 and specializes in fashion-forward women’s apparel and accessories. Owned by mother and son team, Nola and David Harris, Etiquette receives weekly shipments of limited styles, and is open daily from 10am-8pm, and 1pm-6pm on Sundays.

For more information, to request an interview, or press credentials for the event, please contact Sara Shake of Exposed PR at 954.336.3275 or sara@xpsdpr.com.

In their second year, the Broward Pulse committee has hand-selected a motivated and dedicated group of young professionals that are committed to raising awareness of childhood obesity and money for families of children suffering from congenital heart defects.

Last year, Pulse was able to net $48,000 towards this cause, and this year, they have already far exceeded their own expectations. With over $65,000 already committed to the Pulse campaign, the committee looks to top their goal of $100,000 at their Second Annual Red Party.

Co-Chair and Top Fundraiser, Romina Sifuentes, “has been humbled by the generosity of our community. The fact that so many people have donated to this cause shows how important it is to raise awareness of heart health.”
The Red Party will take place on Thursday, March 1st at 8pm at the Westin Sky Terrace. Guests will be treated to open bar sponsored by Stoli Vodka, passed hors d’oeuvres, a silent and live auction, and music provided by a live band and DJ. Celebrity sponsor Andre Johnson will be in attendance, alongside signature sponsors One Beat CPR, Las Olas Riverfront, Silver Lining In Flight Catering, and SOI. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear red.

“This event is a culmination of almost a year of preparation and fundraising, and we are thrilled to present an event that reflects the collaborative efforts of 25 young professionals that truly care about this cause. It’s going to be a great night,” states Pulse Co-Chair, Sara Shake.

Their campaign started with a kick-off netting $15,000 towards their goal at Jet Runway Café, hosted by signature sponsor, Silver Lining In Flight Catering. Since then, the group has worked diligently to spread awareness of their cause through community outreach events like their Heart Healthy Day of Play at Funderdome, where 172 kids and parents received a CPR Demo from One Beat CPR and learned about staying active and healthy.

Tickets are available for purchase for $75 through www.browardpulse.org or by calling (954) 772-8100.

As an event insider, and planner of many a successful event…there are always ways that you can improve on a party—always the debrief after the fact when you run through the shoulda, woulda, coulda. Usually for me, it’s more signage, more social media, a guest I forgot to include, etc. It’s these things that keep me up at night, jotting notes in my Blackberry, and shaking my head at my half-asleep me in my sleep.

And then we had the Relax Like A Star event. It was so simple, and so successful. A group of 25 Influencers, the YouCeleb Step & Repeat, Zico, Pop Chips, and a few moments of bliss provided by the Bliss Spa South Beach. Who could ask for anything more? [Well, actually Angela Lutin of Essentially Angela asked for champagne, but that’s to be expected.]

And while there’s always room for improvement, this event was pretty close to perfect for me. With guests like Amit Dharmani from YouCeleb.com, Jewel Figueras of Jewel’s Fab Life, Stephanie Camargo from Midtown Chic-a, Annie Vazquez from The Fashion Poet, Jenny Ortiz from Interview Her, and Sara Liss, Miami Editor of Urban Daddy…the stars [from a PR perspective] were definitely out that night.

Proof that a great event can be simple in concept when the right people are invited, it was a supremely easy and enjoyable for everyone involved, evidenced by these photos of me and our new Jr. Account Exec, Lindi, getting a rub down in the nail lounge. [Word to the wise: the Blood Orange White Pepper Body Butter might change your life, and at the very least, your skin.]

Check out all the photos from this event here, and read all the nice things our guests had to say on the YouCeleb Facebook Page. Become a fan while you’re at it.

And as for the things I would have changed? That’s for me to know, because after all…ignorance is Bliss.

[P.S. Apparently I really like to use brackets.]

Kids Are Treated to Fort Lauderdale’s Premier Indoor Playground, Healthy Snacks, and kid-friendly Demonstration by One Beat CPR

Taking place on Tuesday, February 7th from 5:30-7:30pm, kids in the community and their parents are invited for a heart-healthy day of play hosted by Funderdome, and the young professionals chapter of the American Heart Association of Broward County, Pulse.

In an effort to give back to the community, Pulse felt it was necessary to live up to their mission of raising awareness and prevention of childhood obesity in addition to raising funds through their annual events.
“Funderdome was a natural choice for this event. In addition to an amazing facility, they share our passion for encouraging kids to lead an active and healthy lifestyle,” says Pulse Co-Chair, Romina Sifuentes.
One Beat CPR, the signature sponsor of Broward Pulse, will be on hand to give kids and parents a CPR demonstration, as well as, discuss how to react in an emergency situation. Healthy snacks will be provided by Pop Chips, and the Funderdome Café.
Funderdome features play areas such as the Ballistics Ball Blasting Arena, Funder-City Climbing Wall, Obstacle Course, Giant Slides, Laser Maze, and the Sky Trail Ropes Challenge. The event is open to children of all ages, and admission is free.

Funderdome Indoor Play & Café is a nearly 9,000-square foot destination family fun center that promotes fun, fitness and togetherness for kids and adults. The facility offers quality programming and free time, and is designed to be a place where everyone can participate as much – or as little – as they like.

The main play space is open daily for free play, offering a great alternative to the beach or other (weather-dependent) outdoor activities. Play equipment includes a 22-foot high, three-belay climbing wall, South Florida’s only indoor high ropes challenge course, a ball blasting arena, high-energy laser maze, interactive game floor and giant indoor playground with giant slides. A separate section for toddlers is available for free play, and is also used for Baby and Me classes. Funderdome also offers special events and enrichment classes.

Funderdome also has a café attached, separated from the play space by a wall that allows parents to relax with a coffee and use free Wi-Fi while children enjoy free play or take a class. While parents are welcome to join in the fun, many also appreciate the ability to sit back and watch the action from the comfortable lounge area.

The facility also has several party rooms available, and can accommodate groups of up to 200 people. Funderdome hosts the best parties in South Florida, and is also a great option for corporate events and team building activities.
Funderdome is open Monday through Saturday from 9am – 9pm, and on Sundays from 9am – 6pm. Day passes and membership packages are available. Visit www.Funderdome.net to learn more, or text “FUN” to 91944 to receive specials and updates via text messages to mobile devices. Call Funderdome at 954-525-1816 to speak with a Funderdome Ambassador, book parties, or to become a Member.
